5 Ways to Practice Self-Care During Social Distancing

Self-care is a vital part of keeping balance in our lives, but in these trying times, it’s more important than ever. Here are 5 tips to help you find clarity with your newfound time at home.

1. Create A Schedule

As many of us live very active lifestyles, being at home can throw our schedule out of wack. Creating a flexible schedule by breaking down time to eat, work, socialize and sleep can help you regain control of your life. If you’re having a hard time breaking out of your funk, try starting slow. The first step could be setting a time to wake up and make breakfast, and you’ll find that having an energizing meal can boost your day. Remember, this schedule doesn’t have to be strict and can change with time but it is important to find a healthy balance of work, social and personal time.

2. Boost Your Skincare Routine

Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can’t be cute! Take some time to analyze some of your problem spots with your overall skincare game and invest in a few products to combat them. Having trouble deciding which products may be best for you? Try researching a few licensed estheticians like “The Golden Rx” and “Sean Garette Skin” who specialize in treating acne, hyperpigmentation, and dullness.

3. Plan Your Meals

With growing restrictions on going outside many of us have stocked our pantry to the brim making it easier for us to snack our fears away. Try to stick to a meal schedule and make time with family to make healthy and well-balanced meals. And for the 5th time no, ice cream is not a good breakfast choice.

4. Check-in With Loved Ones

Social distancing has its challenges, but it only forces us to be more creative when connecting with loved ones. Apps like FaceTime, HouseParty, and Zoom are a great way to hang out with friends and family virtually. Whether it's sharing a new movie on Netflix or watching a new IG Live battle, maintaining these relationships can help you feel grounded and bring some happiness into your life.

5. Stay Clean

It’s extremely important to keep a healthy regime when outside and at home. Important factors to remember when out:

-Cover your mouth and nose with a clean cloth. Before making a homemade mask practice the sunlight test. If you hold your cloth up to the sun and can see through it, your cloth is not thick enough.

-Gloves are only needed to prevent cross-contamination. If you wear gloves outside make sure to properly discard them before entering your car or home.

-Washing your hands/sanitizing for at least 20 seconds and moisturizing immediately after. With mango butter of course!

My hair has been natural for over 35 years. I was looking for something to help my ends from being so dry. I saw this mango butter and decided to give it a try. I love it. My ends feel moist my hair has a nice shine without feeling greasy, and it feels soft. I will recommend this to my friends.
